Google's AI chatbot just crossed a line—

And it's a little troubling to say the least.

First thing's first.

What the heck happened?

In a nutshell...

A grad student was seeking homework help.

And Gemini responded with a bone-chilling message:

☑️ Told the student to "Please die"

☑️ Called the student a "burden on society"

☑️ Suggested the student was "not needed"

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗦𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗜

If an AI can generate such a threatening message...

❌ What guardrails actually exist?

❌ How deep do these digital dangers go?

❌ Are we creating monsters we can't control?

Google's response to the incident?

This is just a "non-sensical" response.

This isn't the first time AI had a "glitch".

A 14 year old committed suicide after interacting with a "Games of Thrones" themed chatbot on Character AI.

Meanwhile earlier this year Gemini recommended users put glue in pizza sauce and eat at least on small rock per day.

Cute chatbots are one thing.

Potentially lethal language models are another.

For someone struggling with mental health, such a message could be fatal.

Google's "safety filters" suddenly look paper-thin.

Are we creating tools or threats?

Is this a glitch or a glimpse of something darker?
