Wetware as a Service 🧠
SaaS is dead.
WaaS is alive. (Literally)
A small Australian company just made history.
Cortical Labs created the world's first...
"Biological computer."
But this isn't your typical machine.
It uses human brain cells fused with silicon hardware.
The CL1 system takes lab-grown neurons and connects them to computer chips.
These living neural networks learn & adapt like our brains.
And here's the shocking part...
They learn faster and more efficiently than the technology powering ChatGPT.
While using a fraction of the energy.
Scientists can now purchase this $35,000 system outright.
Or access it through "Wetware-as-a-Service".
(Yes, that's actually what they're calling it)
These biological computers could:
✅ Develop better treatments for neurological diseases
✅ Revolutionize drug discovery without animal testing
✅ Create an entirely new computing paradigm
But Cortical Labs isn't stopping there.
Their next goal?
Creating a "Minimal Viable Brain."
A system that uses the least amount of neurons possible to handle the most complex problems.
𝗠𝘆 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲🤔
We're witnessing the birth of a third path in AI.
1️⃣ Traditional AI relies on silicon and algorithms.
2️⃣ AGI research tries to mimic human intelligence.
3️⃣ But this approach is using biological intelligence.
The line between technology and biology is disappearing.
And it's happening faster than most people realize.
Could this be the next step beyond Elon's Neuralink?
Are we one step closer to Ray Kurzweil's prediction of "The Singularity" where humans merge with AI?
Google's Gemini adds video understanding capabilities for more intuitive interactions. Users can now ask questions about videos they're watching or share screenshots, enabling the AI to provide context-aware responses about visual content.
Google introduces Gemini side panel in Calendar for conversational schedule management. The AI assistant helps users check appointments, create events, and find meeting details through natural language queries rather than manual searches.
Military officials advocate for AI integration in nuclear command systems with human oversight. Air Force and Space Force leaders believe AI could enhance decision speed and secure communications while maintaining that humans must retain final authority over nuclear weapons.
Judge denies Elon Musk's request to halt OpenAI's for-profit transition. The court rejected Musk's preliminary injunction while fast-tracking the trial for fall 2025, dealing a blow to his claims that OpenAI abandoned its original mission.

OpenAI plans premium AI agents priced between $2,000-$20,000 monthly for different skill levels. The top-tier "PhD-level" agents aim to work continuously without breaks, raising questions about their ability to replace skilled knowledge workers despite the high cost.
TSMC commits $100 billion to Arizona chip factories after Trump's tariff threats. The Taiwanese semiconductor giant will build six plants creating thousands of jobs, though the massive investment has sparked concerns in Taiwan about its strategic chip dominance.

Researchers adopt Super Mario Bros. as new benchmark for testing AI capabilities. The classic game provides a dynamic environment for evaluating how AI models handle real-time decision-making, obstacle avoidance, and goal-oriented tasks compared to static datasets.
Claude-3.7 was tested on Pokémon Red, but what about more real-time games like Super Mario 🍄🌟?
We threw AI gaming agents into LIVE Super Mario games and found Claude-3.7 outperformed other models with simple heuristics. 🤯
Claude-3.5 is also strong, but less capable of… x.com/i/web/status/1…

Microsoft partners with D-ID to bring AI-powered avatars to Teams and Azure. The collaboration aims to replace traditional interfaces with natural interactions through digital humans that can speak any language, translate into sign language, and restore communication for people with disabilities.
Meta researchers built a "large reconstruction model (LRM)" that can generate an animatable photorealistic avatar head in minutes from just four selfies.

A highly detailed and photorealistic portrait of a fierce Viking warrior with a rugged beard and long, braided hair. The man wears a weathered fur cloak and traditional Norse armor with intricate patterns, his face marked by battle scars.
